Appleby Fair ‘18

One week every year, the tiny town of Appleby in Cumbria host the largest gathering of Gypsies and travellers in Western Europe. 10.000 members of the travelling community pour into the Eden Valley to drink, gamble, meet friends, find new loves, celebrate their music, history, folklore and occasionally to trade horses. This gathering is the highlight of the Gypsy social calendar, while the older generations look forward to the family reunions, the younger generation set their hearts on romance and horses are being brought to the Fair for leisure rather than for trade.
